Happy Birthday Dad

Today's my Dad's Birthday and so this is a special size card for such a special person. I tend to use A6 most days now but this one's an A5 gatefold. I've already used the SU masculine stamps on cards for my Dad (it's amazing how many you get through in a year - Birthday, Christmas, Father's Day, Wedding Anniversary and that's just for starters) so I've opted for a non-SU set today that reflects one of his favourite pastimes - fishing. It was SU all the way though for everything else about the card.

Recipe
Cardstock: Handsome Hunter, Whisper White
DSP: To The Nines Specialty
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Other: Stampin' Pastels, Watercolour Wonder Crayons, Blender Pen, Clips Assortment
Non-SU: Daisy and Dandelion stamp set

The main image and the sentiment were stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White card. I then used Watercolour Wonder Crayons to colour with and smoothed the colour out without losing any intensity by using the Blender Pen. The main image and sentiment were matted direct to Handsome Hunter card and popped up on dimensionals onto To The Nines Specialty DSP matted direct again to Handsome Hunter. Panels of To The Nines Specialty DSP were matted direct to either side of the Handsome Hunter A5 gatefold card blank. The main image was popped up on dimensionals on the left hand panel and the sentiment had a Clip added and was popped up on dimensionals on the right hand panel. I used Sahara Sand card for the insert to tone with the DSP.

Here's the card folded flat.

My Dad doesn't really pay much attention to my cardmaking but this one raised a smile from him, so I must be doing something right.

Have a great weekend.

Beautiful card Sara, love the image and that "handsome hunter" colour is a great choice....I always migrate towards brown for male cards, never thought of using green before...but I do love the look of that colour :)
